Assuming you can rewrite the chord name to something Chord Symbols accept, you can create a Chord Symbol object, and then hide the text. For example you might want a chord diagram to appear but have text that Chord Symbol objects does not allow, like C+Add(9)Flat4. Chord Symbol objects and legacy chords can coexist in a score, but legacy chords, which are text objects, will never show a chord diagram. One can be more specific if one could see a score.
Avid sibelius 8 show guitar chord diagrams pro#
Sib 1.2 - 7, Windows 7 Pro SP 1 64 bit, 4 G RAM. The downloadable Convert Legacy Chord Symbols plugin can convert legacies to Chord Symbols, as long as the text is legal for Chord Symbol objects. You just have a mix of chord symbols from different versions. If it says "Edit Chord Symbol" it is possible to make a chord diagram appear or disappear (right click/ctrl-click and find Chord Symbol in the pop up menu). If it says "Edit Text" you are dealing with a legacy symbol, which will never show a chord diagram. In Sib 6 and later, if you select a chord symbol, you can tell whether it is a text object or a Chord Symbol object by looking in the Property Window or Inspector, and in Sib 7 you can look in the status bar at the bottom on the screen. The visibility of chord diagrams in Chord Symbol objects can be controlled by Engraving Rules. In Sib 6, this creates Chord Symbol objects unless you change the Preference to create legacy chord symbols. In Sib 5, using the default ctrl/cmnd K to create chord symbols created text only. So once you created one of these the chord diagram was always visible.Īs of Sib 6, Chord Symbol objects contain both the chord name text and the chord diagram, and you change the properties to determine which of these you want to be visible. If you wanted chord diagrams in Sib 5 or earlier, you used Create Chord Diagram, which had an option to show or hide the chord name, but not the diagram. Chord symbols were simply text objects in Chord Symbols text style (as are legacy chord symbols). Prior to Sibelius 6,chord symbols and chord diagrams (or Guitar Frames as Sibelius called them) were separate objects. 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - gary, 16 Feb 09:54PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - Bob Zawalich, 16 Feb 07:42PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - gary, 16 Feb 06:05PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - Bob Zawalich, 16 Feb 05:54PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - gary, 16 Feb 03:50PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - Robin Walker, 16 Feb 03:12PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - gary, 16 Feb 02:09PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - gary, 16 Feb 01:23PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - Kenneth Gaw, 16 Feb 01:02PM 7.1.3: guitar chord diagrams - gary, 16 Feb 12:46PM
